Job Description:

Provide laboratory support for:
• New product development.
• Product Evolution.
• Existing product production.
• Product Certification maintenance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Follow all laboratory and plant safety rules.
• Operate laboratory test equipment.
• Execute all required laboratory, plant and corporate safety and skills trainings.
• Maintain a safe, clean and well organized laboratory.

PERFORMING TESTS/CALIBRATIONS
• With guidance, perform electrical, mechanical, thermal, functional and environmental laboratory testing safely and
efficiently according to established Test Standards or engineering specification as required.
• Communicate effectively with test requestor to verify the need and confirm proper test execution and data gathering.
• Document test information and results accurately and concisely according to accepted standards using corporate test
documentation system.
• Assemble/Disassemble test devices.
• Mount, connect and operate test devices in the test environment as required.

PLANNING TESTS/CALIBRATIONS
• Plan the specific details around test execution with the help of Senior Technicians.
o Test equipment required.
o Scheduling of laboratory equipment.

EVALUATION OF RESULTS
• Provide objective description of test results.

REPORTING OF OPINIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS
• Opinions and interpretations not provided from this level.

METHOD MODIFICATION
• This laboratory uses methods defined in the various certification standards and does not modify methods.

DEVELOPMENT/VALIDATION OF NEW METHODS
• This laboratory uses methods defined in the various certification standards and does not create new methods.

EXPERTISE
• Safe operation of basic laboratory appropriate hand and power tools.
• Safe operation of basic laboratory measurement and test equipment.
• Operation of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Basic working knowledge of DC and AC electricity concepts (voltage, current, power, resistance, etc.).
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, etc..
• Ability to work independently or in teams.

MANAGERIAL DUTIES
• Identify and provide corrections for unsafe or undesirable conditions in the lab.

• Accountability
• Good interpersonal skills

TRAINING
Employees will be required to complete training in the following areas:
• Laboratory Safety
• Electrical Safety
• Quality Manual
• UL DAP Tools / CSA Requirements
• Equipment Training as Required by the job.
• Other as required by corporate direction or lab changes.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Associate's Degree or higher in a related technical field
