Agronomist - Farming

Position Purpose: Assist with managing 40 acre research farm, greenhouses and seed shipments. Field responsibilities for land preparation, plot harvests, irrigation, and seed harvest. Seed responsibilities include cleaning, inventory control, obtaining permits for international shipments, obtaining state seed certifications. Greenhouse responsibilities include pollinations, cuttings, plant maintenance and insect control. This person is also a member of the station management team and Safety Officer for Nampa Research station.

Experience-Education (Required):

• Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Preferred in Agronomy or Horticulture.
  
  

Competencies-Skills (Required):

• Strong critical thinking skills andtechnical background in research.
  
  


• Ability to work independently with limited supervision, willing to take initiative. Strong computer skills especially with Excel required.
  
  


• Able to clearly articulate work direction and able to communicate with all levels of research staff in an effective and timely manner.
  
  

Experience-Education (Preferred):

• Preferred 3+ years experience in agriculture research and/or greenhouse maintenance.
