Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position to be based in the New York(preferred), Chicago, Atlanta or Minnesota office:



Portfolio Manager - Complex Clients




What can you expect?



  • Work in the Chief Investment Office, interfacing with the Client Portfolio Office, which is responsible for large and complex clients who have unique structures, requirements and/or investment needs

  • Be part of a team that is responsible for custom portfolios across client segments

  • Exposure to experts across the business including but not limited to, portfolio management, manager research, implementation, trading and onboarding regarding:

    • Manager/Product Selection, Rebalancing, Cash flow management, Dynamic Asset Allocation, Best Idea implementation/management at the specific client level

We will count on you to:



  • Support the Client Portfolio Office

  • Assist with new client pitches

  • Support the client portfolio office in portfolio management and restructurings

  • Ensure the Client Portfolio Office has correct information and analysis prior to consultant and/or client meetings to support portfolio recommendations

  • Present market commentary, manager information, tactical views and strategic asset allocation rationales to both internal and external stakeholders.




What you need to have:



  • 8 yrs plus experience in related investment consulting and/or investment management focused on the institutional investment landscape.

  • Experience in multiple asset classes, providing investment advice and/or solutions to clients.

  • Clear communicator and comfort speaking in front of internal and external groups of all sizes

  • Familiarity of the investment and operational components of delivering to clients




What makes you stand out:



  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment e.g. multiple Board stakeholders, etc

  • Experience with large, complex clients requiring custom and bespoke solutions

  • Experience with both traditional and alternatives asset classes is preferred

The applicable base salary range for this role is $126,000 to $252,000.


The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
