Position Summary:



The Platform Operations Leader coordinates and is responsible for end-to-end manufacturing activities across sites sharing specialized platform processes. The position is responsible for ensuring all facets of operations adhere to established guidelines and holds operational accountability of all plants (internal supply) with regard to output and capacity. This role executes the internal manufacturing strategy and operating guidelines for the product platform (e.g., inventory levels, safety stock, production schedule adherence, etc.) set by the Head of Global Manufacturing.



Position Responsibilities:



  • Oversee internal manufacturing sites ensuring compliance, quality, safety, and supply.

  • Oversee plant financials - P&L, Inventory, Capex.

  • Execute governance and operating procedures to ensure plants are efficiently utilized..

  • Grow organizational and talent pipeline to create and sustain high perforing site organizations - talent identification, talent development and coaching, performance management and succession planning.

  • Execute platform production strategy, policies and governance and implement performance improvement key performance indicators (KPIs) endorsed by Head of Global Manufacturing & Supply.

  • Develop and sustain actively managed site master plans aligned with long-term demand.

  • Work with Operational Excellence teams to train and build lean capabilities at a site-level with particular understanding of differentiated platform processes and platform-driven KPIs.

  • Support long term strategic decision making and execution, working with partners in global functions.

  • Identify areas for infrastructure and technology improvement.

  • Actively assess and respond to Colleague Survey to continuously drive a healthy work culture.

  • Use Merit, AIP, and LTI processes to differentiate, reward and retain, and strengthen the organization.




Education:



  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or applicable discipline is required.

  • A Master's in business, relevant advanced degree, or training/certificate in manufacturing is strongly preferred.




Experience:



  • >15 years of experience global supply w/ >10 years of experience leading teams.

  • Site Lead / GM and above site plant management experience (group of sites) preferred.

  • Preference for biologics, biopharma, and/or pharmaceutical operations experience

  • Experience with developing production performance strategies and capacity planning




Technical Skills and Competence Required:



  • Demonstrated success leading, managing and developing people - growing leaders, building strong teams, and creating an ownership culture in a global environment.

  • Demonstrated achievement of results with operations optimization and performance improvement.

  • Successful experience operating with different cultures and unfamiliar operating situations.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work, goals and tasks in a cross-functional environment.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with proficiency in English.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead transformational change.

  • Ability to develop close working relationships with relevant stakeholders and to be able to positively influence them to help achieve his/her goals.

  • Able to navigate a matrixed organization and build productive working relationships with peers and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated record of innovation, change management, continuous improvement with development and implementation of best practices.

  • Experience interfacing with contractors, sub-contractors, public officials, regulatory agencies, and others.
