Position Purpose
The Staff Accountant role is responsible for performing accounting tasks as necessary to provide timely and accurate financial statements for assigned clients. This individual reports to an Accounting Manager or Senior Accounting Manager.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting
Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting preferred
Experience with accounting software and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
Precise attention to detail
Comfortable working with colleagues in team focused environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Displays professionalism and confidentiality among clients and staff
Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under pressure of deadlines

Essential Functions

Prepare balance sheet supporting schedules and reconciliations
Prepare and record sales journal entry
Have strong knowledge of A/P and A/R procedures and provide guidance to Accounts Payable Processors
Reconcile bank accounts
Record general ledger transactions
Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns
Maintain recurring journal entries
Maintain prepaid expense and accrued liability accounts
Apply appropriate capitalization policies for fixed assets
Maintain documentation of client-specific procedures and processes
Perform initial analytical review of financial statements
Meet reporting and filing deadlines
Report client's cash position, as necessary
Provide timely responses to client inquiries and requests
Proactively communicate client issues to accounting manager
Assist in new client implementations as requested
Assist with other projects as needed
