Technical Management Consultant

PantherlabWorks, within the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence, is seeking a qualified part-time (.8 FTE/30 hours weekly) Technical Management Consultant. The position will be a hybrid role.

PantherlabWorks, the commercialization center of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence (IEE) at the University of Pittsburgh, assists startups and business owners in the Pittsburgh region by providing product development-based consulting, educational workshops, and networking opportunities.

Duties for the role will include, but not be limited to:

1. Facilitate educational programming
2. Engage with community resource partners
3. Engage in community outreach through networking events to contribute to client development across 11 county region
4. Participate in program development with staff based upon client need
5. Consult on business operations
6. Consult on commercialization and manufacturing processes

Job Summary

Provides business consulting assistance to new and existing businesses in Western Pennsylvania. Develops effective relationships with local economic development agencies and conducts business seminars and educational programming. Employs effective marketing strategies to further market and program reach.

Essential Functions

• Provides consulting assistance to new and existing businesses
• Attends networking functions; conducts presentations and business seminars
• Plans and delivers educational programs to businesses; plans, organizes, and facilitates educational programs and creates new educational seminars in collaboration with resource partners

Physical Effort

Position is primarily sedentary but off campus travel may be necessary to attend meetings, seminars, etc.
