Location & Travel: This will be a hybrid role based in Crystal City, VA with the ability to be in the office 2-3 days per week and attend on-site meetings as needed.

Security Clearance: The Data Connections Engineer must be a United States Citizen and hold a current DoD Secret security clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

IW is seeking experienced Data Connections Engineers to join our Advana team. As a Data Connections Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our Advana data infrastructure and systems. Your expertise in Python, Java, and SQL along with experience working with data integration tools and frameworks like Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, or ETL tools will be essential in ensuring efficient data processing and analysis.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams are also important, as the role involves working closely with data scientists, analysts, and software developers.
• Developing, maintain, and optimize data pipelines that connect various systems and databases.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot data integration solutions to meet the Advana data needs.

Qualifications

• Mid-level (3-5 years of experience) software or data engineer with a strong background in:
  • Databricks and/or notebook-style development with scheduled jobs
  • Python
  • SQL, JDBC, and ODBC
  • SFTP
  • Data engineering libraries (pandas, for example)
• Experience developing, maintaining, and/or interacting with REST and SOAP API
• Experience leading or managing small to medium sized teams
• Experience with requirements gathering, planning, and implementation
• Strong experience with data connections
• Ideal candidate will be able to develop and maintain data connections to external resources independently

Qualifications:

• IAT Level II Certification
• Secret or TS Clearance
