Lab manager and independent researcher to function as a mentor and vital contributor to lab research projects in the Doucet-O Hare Lab.
JOB DUTIES:
50% - Essential - Provide a critical knowledge base for all important lab techniques including but not limited to: cell culture, cloning, chicken embryo model generation, zebrafish model generation, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, various molecular biology and bioinformatic techniques. Train others in the department to work with the chicken embryo model alongside Dr. Doucet-OHare. Help to facilitate collaborations with the lab.
25% - Essential - Train and mentor graduate students alongside the PI.
15% - Essential - Performing experiments in the broad area of human genetics and chick embryo development and/or zebrafish development including morphological, pathological, and molecular characterization.
10% - Essential - Assist in completing, managing and foster relationships with collaborative NIH projects. Assist in lab purchases, budget management, keep track of training compliance, and providing assistance with experimental design and troubleshooting where necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree Work Experience 5+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree - Cancer Biology/ Developmental Biology and Genetics Work Experience 8+ years
