Job Overview:

Cooper Machinery Services is currently seeking a Designer III with experience and knowledge generating detailed production drawings, 3D modeling, and Bills of Materials within SAP as required.

This individual will work alongside the Cooper engineering team providing design and tech support with any production and/or operating issues that may arise. This individual will interface with Project Managers, Quality Control, and Production members assisting with the planning and execution of projects whose focus applies innovative value-added solutions to new product and process development. This individual will assist with tracking and managing various project drawing through the workflow management system.

Responsibilities:

An individual holding this position is expected to be experienced in all aspects of drafting and design basics within a production environment.

• Must be familiar with the Inventor, AutoCAD, and NX.


• Must be familiar with complex assemblies, including design, assembly process and manufacturing methods.


• Knowledge of electrical schematics and related documents.


• Background of gas compression and combustion related to gas engines preferred.


• Must have a strong working knowledge of ASME standards on manufacturing and piping drawings/models to apply correct ASME standards.


• Must have a strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.


• Must be able to review drawings of other team members and ensure conformance with company specific and general engineering standards.


• Must be able to generate new 3D modeling applications.


• Knowledge of engineering functions within TeamCenter and SAP, including material master and BOM creation, checking and approval processes is certainly preferred.


• Must have a strong understanding of industry standards and ASME Code knowledge.


• Must possess excellent verbal, written communication skills and strong technical presentation skills.


• Skilled in Microsoft Office products

 Minimum Qualifications:

• Designer experience with 15+ years of relevant industrial experience.


• Minimum High School or G.E.D equivalent
