JOB SUMMARY

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial information. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the month-end closing process, preparing, and posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and conducting variance analyses. You'll also provide vital information for internal and external audits and actively participate in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance accounting workflows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions related to the company's properties and investments.

  • Managing the flow of financial information between our business partners/operators and internal/external customers.

  • Assist in the month-end closing process, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

  • Support the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and REIT-specific accounting requirements.

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-Q and 10-K reports.

  • Assisting with tax-related tasks including pulling accurate information for tax preparation and ensuring timely completion

  • Assisting team with providing information related to internal and external audits

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within accounting workflows and collaborate with the team to design and implement more efficient procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required

  • 1–3 years relevant corporate and/or public accounting experience

  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • A working knowledge of US GAAP

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Certification(s): CPA preferred.

Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
