Key Responsibilities:


Tropicana Brands Group is looking for a highly qualified Trades IV Mechanic to support the Supply Chain team to ensure the company's goals and initiatives are met.


This role will be responsible for erfporming multi-functions, multi-tasks with various levels and breadth of technology at this site and to be compliant with corporate polices to ensure the highest level of safety, quality, and asset reliability. Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Perform multi-functions, multi-tasks with various levels and breadth of technology at this site and to be compliant with corporate polices to ensure the highest level of safety, quality, and asset reliability

  • Perform sanitary TIG weld and ARC welding as required

  • Proficient in proper use and safety procedures for all shop hand tools and power equipment including drill press, shear, die grinders, etc.

  • Support, and actively contribute to, operational systems and processes such as breakdown analysis, preventive maintenance task optimization, and root cause analysis

  • Effectively complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks as generated by the CMMS and document results as required

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues with site wide production and packaging and/or aseptic equipment such as: pasteurizers, homogenizers, pump knowledge (Durco, Waukesha, Tri-Clover), valve matrices (Alfa Laval, APV, Tuchenhagen), CIP/SIP skids, fillers and carton fillers (Evergreen & rotary fillers), case packers, tray packers, KHS Kister, tamper-evident sleevers with heat tunnels, case erectors, case sealers, hot melt systems (Nordson), palletizers (Alvey, etc.), stretch wrappers (Mueller), conveyor systems, bottle orienteers, labelers (Krones), blow molders (Slidell), rail car maintenance (pre-trip, fluid level checks, belt adjustments, minor replacement of speed solenoids, starter, alternator, fuses, and minor diagnostics), aseptic tank with agitators, and electrical knowledge pertaining to photo-eyes, Reed switches, limit switches, fuse blocks, PLC inputs/outputs, etc.

  • Effectively prioritize and complete scheduled shift and project work assigned by planners and leadership

  • Maintain compliance with site management of change policies

  • Escalate problems to internal/vendor subject matter experts for effective solutions

  • Identify recurring maintenance problems and develop proactive plans to eliminate recurrence

  • Perform other related duties assigned by leadership

  • Perform duties related to predictive technologies, i.e. oil samples

  • Assume the role as technical support to operators

  • Assist in assuring the completeness of equipment bill of materials

  • Provide support and participate in all aspects of TPM

  • Utilize software including but not limited to CMMS and Outlook. Enter work requests resulting from PM inspections or other findings

  • Return area to GMP level of cleanliness after equipment repair.


Requirements:



  • High School diploma or GED

  • 5+ years of experience trouble shooting, repairing and replacing: mechanical pumps, valves, conveyors, bearings, motors, etc.

  • Must have a solid understanding of pumps, heat exchangers, etc.

  • Machinist / operating mill experience is a plus

  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus

  • Basic electrical understanding is a plus

  • Must pass department written & hands on test

  • Must be able to read and comprehend manuals, schematics, and blueprints

  • Must be self-directed, team-oriented member supporting department and cross departmental teams as needed

  • Must be able to travel for training when required. Shift work and overtime as assigned

  • Must supply own hand tools as listed on separate attachment

  • Must have or be able to obtain forklift license, scissor lift, and boom lift

  • Must be proficient in using software including but not limited to Zarpac, Excel, Word, Power Point, CMMS, and Outlook
