Job Title: Shipping Coordinator I

Job Type: Contract (40 hrs. a week)
Pay Rate Range : $16- $19/Hr
Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).
Worker Schedule:
2nd shift position - 2:30pm to 11pm
QUALIFICATIONS:
HS diploma/equivalent required, but 2-year degree w/3-4 years' experience in similar role strongly preferred. Will be doing a lot of data entry; data entry of pick ticket stubs into DNS screens and serve as backup to Printer room and BOL clerks' tasks.
Critical skills required:
Exceptional data entry speed/accuracy plus ability to stay focused and perform work for long periods of time.
Acts as customer service for warehouse, manages 11 printers' w/sense of urgency, be able to quickly navigate multiple computer systems.
Must be self-motivated to help coworkers during lull times.
Excellent customer service, communication and ability to work w/varying types of personalities is necessary.
Administrative background and have experience in a warehouse/shipping office environment and familiarity w/shipping material, DOT regulations and relationship between the two.
Manager does NOT want to see individuals who have all floor/warehouse/forklift/etc. experience; this person needs to have worked in an admin role.
Will be working in Excel occasionally, but majority of work will be in Deere's mainframe/menu driven systems, DNS (Dealer Network System) and WCS.
Experience w/inventory systems/tools/AS400 program extremely beneficial in this role; will be troubleshooting through inventory issues.
Attention to detail, timeliness and excellent attendance are key as position is imperative in keeping operation running. Could be working at driver window or bursting tickets and distributing work/ equipment.
Will train as backup to cover all duties of position in the department, including BOL, customs document creation, handling will-call window and responding to requests from warehouse supervisors and others w/in organization.
Description
Determines, coordinates and transacts shipments to customers and/or suppliers.
Participates in shipping department's activities.
Assigns priorities to daily shipping activities and gives work directions to shippers, dock personnel and/or truckers.
Keeps in contact with, notifies and coordinates carriers, trucker and/or shipper e.g. when a load needs to be picked up.
Notifies customers about the status of customer orders, the condition of the load and the date their product is being shipped.
Prepares and writes out various shipping documents for freight companies e.g. permit papers, customs declarations and bills of lading.
Processes and maintains all relevant data of shipments.
