Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

Assists the Regional Business Operations Manager (RBOM) for their Area with the business, administrative, operational, and financial management of the offices within their Area.  This includes but not limited to budget control, record keeping, and financial matters.

General Responsibilities:


  • Assists the RBOM with communicating and carrying out the mission and objectives of the firm and executing the company’s Strategic Plan and budgeted operational plans within the offices in their respective Areas.

  • Assist PM with review of annual goals and objectives prepared by the TL’s(TL) within each office and works with TL’s and RBOM to monitor financial and project performance to insure the overall success of projects and the office.

  • Provides day-to-day supervision and support of the Administrative staff located in each of the offices within their respective Areas including:

  • Communicating performance expectations;

  • Providing ongoing feedback related to their ability to successfully achieve the expected results;

  • Conducting quarterly BPM performance reviews; and

  • Approving of their respective Administrative staff’s weekly timesheets and Expense Reports in support of RBOM.

  • Studies procedures and makes recommendations to improve project and office efficiency and performance.

  • Evaluates the services of vendors and the quality of items purchased.

  • Continuously maintains and evaluates equipment leases, including vehicles, computers and furniture and coordinates the office facility needs with building owner/landlord.

  • Conducts in-service sessions as necessary to keep all TL’sinformed as to the proper procedures for use of equipment, standard forms, filing, copying, mail, equipment acquisitions, time and expense logs, etc.

  • Produces weekly/monthly project reports and provides information to TL’s and RBOM.

  • Keeps close attention focused on the reports from the accounting department, and advises the RBOM and TL’s whenever variances in profit objectives appear to be a future possibility.

  • Monitors accounts receivable, holds, utilization and write-offs. Works with Project Managers, TL’s and Client Managers to determine appropriate plan to ensure accounts receivables are paid in a timely manner.

  • Assists RBOM in preparing annual operating budget for each office in their Area. Maintain total awareness and/or execution of corporate policies and procedures to assure consistent compliance is maintained by all staff.

  • Coordinates with staff to distribute monthly manpower report and assists RBOM and TL’smonitor and manage the labor force of the offices within their designated Area to insure that it is appropriately sized for the volume of work being delivered.

  • Assists in overall administrative training.

  • Approves accounts payable in the absence of RBOM.

  • Communicates timely and effectively with their DO, Managing Principals, and TL’s within their Area, and other members of the Senior Management and Corporate Management Team.

Supervisory Responsibilities


  • Creates performance expectations and provides ongoing formal and informal performance feedback to the Administrative staff within the offices in their designated Areas.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (i.e. Business Administration) preferred with a minimum of 10 years experience in a variety of responsible business positions, including marketing, human resources, information technology, and accounting. 

  • Previous experience with transportation consulting or professional services preferred.

This compensation range is specific to the State of California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; internal peer equity; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TranSystems, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $53.00/hr.
