What You'll Be Doing:



You will be responsible for the daily yard management for all inbound and outbound trailers at the facility. In this role, you will communicate with supervisors and other key personnel between and within shifts; while supporting department managers and supervisors, as needed.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Facilitates the effective and efficient movement of inbound and outbound trailers

  • Coordinates with receiving and shipping on trailer placement.

  • Maintains daily spreadsheets on trailers placed on the yard and in the doors

  • Coordinates with Purchasing on pallet and corrugate trailers

  • Assists the Shipping/Traffic Office or Operations, as needed

  • Performs other duties as assigned






Requirements for Consideration:



  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Experience operating as a driver for a carrier or within a distribution or manufacturing facility.

  • Receipt of a pertinent commercial driver's license.

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills

  • Excellent oral and written(English)

  • General knowledge of warehouse operations and yard management

  • Use good judgment, as needed, to ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of operations

  • Ability to bend, lift, and reach items most of the time

  • Ability to lift heavy objects 50 pounds

  • Ability to stock and organize products safely and accordingly, as some items are fragile

  • Ability to handle/transport heavy items with the use of manual or mechanical handling machinery

  • Ability to organize and clean work stations promptly

  • Ability to work well with a team

  • Ability to review and process shipping documentations

  • Ability to help with process/logistics improvement efforts

  • Ability to follow the safety rules and regulations as warranted by OSHA

  • Ability to withstand warehouse settings (varying temperatures)

  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
