Position Summary The Associate Athletics Director for Athletics for External Relations serves as a member of the Athletic Department’s leadership team committed to educational and competitive excellence.
This position also provides leadership and oversight for La Salle University’s Athletics revenue generation, marketing functions, gameday experiences, communications, and other external affairs. The Associate Athletic Director for External Relations is responsible for revenue generating operations and growth through tickets sales, partnerships, licensing and merchandise. This position oversees and manages the implementation of strategic marketing plans focused on increasing attendance, as well as develop and enhance the fan experience through game scripting, production and experiences. Responsible for the day-to-day operations, the Associate Athletic Director provides direction and vision to the Marketing, Revenue, Digital Media, Digital Media, Athletic Communications, and Name Image and Likeness.
Essential Duties MARKETING•Oversee and lead in game marketing and promotions, leveraging La Salle Spirit, Corporate partners, and other external constituents to deliver a professional fan experience• Oversee La Salle Student Marketing Coordinator, to increase student attendance at home events, with a high emphasis on men’s and women’s basketball• Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase attendance, ticket revenue and exposure of athletic events
REVENUE GENERATION• Support and Grow Name, Image, and Likeness efforts – through marketing and promotion of Student-Athlete NIL opportunities, in partnership with the Explorers United, Advancement, Corporate Partners, and other external constituents• Grow Ticket Sales Revenue – In partnership with the COO, Ticket Sales Manager, Advancement and Director of Athletics, oversee development of ticket sales and operational strategies to develop and maintain ticket holder relationships. Ensure integration of ticket campaigns with marketing and strategic communications efforts to increase ticket sales and game day attendance while meeting revenue goals.• Grow Corporate Partnership Revenue – Acting as a liaison with Corporate Partnership Unit, developing strategies targeting local, regional and national businesses.

STREAMING• Organize and supervise the live, multi-camera video streaming of all home La Salle University athletic events.
COMMUNICATIONS• Manage public relations strategies, from creation through execution, to ensure a proactive, opportunistic mindset for all programs, coaches, events and staff.• Oversees a comprehensive plan which builds and shares a compelling view of the direction and purpose of the Athletic Department and its initiatives to educate, engage and motivate external partners, in conjunction with Athletics and University colleagues.• Collaborate with staff to support external initiatives which can be translated into publicity opportunities including, but not limited to, student-athlete community service projects, staff community service, etc.• Supervise all online content distributed across departmental mediums including, but not limited to, Goexplorers.com, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.• Nurture and maintain a positive working relationship with the Atlantic 10 Conference and affiliate conferences• Serve as primary communications liaison to Alumni Relations and Development staffs, assisting with athletics-related gift announcements; maintain supportive alumni relations by responding to inquiries and promoting and participating in various alumni events as assigned.• Manage budget for the Athletic Communications staff and identify Department needs for inclusion in the annual budget process.• Represent La Salle Athletics at appropriate national, regional and local conferences and events.
SPORTS ADMINISTRATION• Serve as sport administrator for assigned varsity sports
Secondary Responsibilities • Serves on NCAA, Atlantic 10 Conference, University and department committees as assigned.• Supervise the nomination and follow-up of all student-athletes and coaches honors and awards (All-Al0, All-American, All-Region, etc.).• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree.• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a public relations practitioner• Knowledge and experience in NCAA rules and compliance is required.• Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
Preferred Qualifications • Master’s degree preferred.• Preferred candidates will possess excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population, experience in creating and implementing personal and professional development opportunities for coaches and student-athletes.• Experience working in senior-level office management role
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours • Travel and off-peak hours required (i.e., attend on-campus and off-campus athletic events, department events, donor functions)
