About the role

Forterra is seeking a high-energy, low-ego receptionist to join our team in Clarksburg, Maryland. This is a broad-reaching, dynamic role that will help improve the overall admin operations of the company and will have direct interaction with employees at all levels, including the executive team. As the first point of contact for employees, partners, and guests, you will play a vital role in providing a positive and professional impression of the company. The ideal candidate will possess an ownership mentality, unrelenting sense of urgency, and desire to learn.
We are willing to train the right candidate and are more interested in how you work than the specific work you"ve done.
This role could be great for college students or recent grads, parents looking for school-friendly work hours, or ANYONE looking to join a growing company and make an impact.
This is an on-site role and will be expected to work roughly 25 hours a week, Monday-Friday, between 9:30-2:30pm ET. (Exact schedule to be determined with the selected candidate but can be flexible between 7am-5pm ET.)

What you"ll do

  • Front Desk/Office Management:
    • Greet and welcome visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
    • Ensure compliance with company security policies and visitor access controls.
    • Manage the reception area to ensure cleanliness and organization.
    • Own the appearance of external-facing areas, including conference rooms.
    • Order, stock, and keep inventory of office and kitchen supplies.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Schedule appointments and conference room bookings as needed.
    • Provide general clerical support to other departments as requested.
    • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
    • Support the ordering and setup of catered company events.
    • Provide back up support and other assistance to other administrative staff, including contributing actively to the on-going development and implementation of shared practices.
    • Effectively manage special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to lift 25lbs
Nice to haves
  • 1 year of experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Manager, or similar role
  • Associates Degree


US Salary Range
$23-$29/hour
The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more.
