Position Overview
The deckhand assisit the boat captian in the operation of the tug boat.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Monitoring the boats propulsion and motors.
Greasing and PM's on the boats.
Securing the loads and maintaining them on the river.
Assisting the captain in navigation.
Securing the loads to the dock barge and the plant.
Cut with a cutting torch and weld using a stick welder.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Dependable and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience
High school diploma preferred.
Working on or around the river preferred.
Work Requirements
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Good communication
Mechanical knowledge of the boat
Be able to lift 50lbs
Work outside for extended periods of time
