The Danaher Business System Leader, Lean for Leica Biosystems is responsible for promoting and leading the successful implementation of our Danaher Business System (DBS) in Leica Biosystems' Richmond, IL site. They will be a critical support resource to Operations, Distributions and other support functions at the site.


This position is part of the Core Histology Consumables (CHC) business unit located in Richmond, IL and will be an on-site role. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

Major Responsibilities


In this role, you will have the opportunity to:



  • Serve as Lean DBS expert to our Richmond, IL; drive sustained operational improvements and Kaizen results that impact Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through facilitation of DBS Lean activities and mentorship of associates and Kaizen teams.

  • Drive results across the dimensions of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost by leveraging a solid understanding of the DBS Fundamentals combined with Lean tools from 4 different areas: Reliability, Operations, Supply Chain, and Materials.

  • Develop and continuously improve processes within Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics at the site and supporting functions. Continuously advance DBS capabilities by leveraging the DBS Playbooks and corresponding action plans.

  • Facilitate Kaizens as defined in a prioritized Kaizen Funnel and support the development of Certified Practitioners to close KPI gaps with appropriate Visual & Daily Management. Improve DBS training and facilitation by pursuing certification in DBS tools for yourself and others.

  • Facilitate and lead PSP (Problem Solving Process) teams in everyday Problem Solving. Install and facilitate Visual & Daily Management at Gemba across the site.

Education



  • BS or BA Degree in Business, Engineering, Science or equivalent




Experience



  • Previous Operations or Lean experience

  • Hands-on experience implementing improvements in a continuous improvement environment (DBS, Lean SixSigma, TPS, etc.), line management or consulting role

  • Bachelor's degree in field with 5+ years exp. OR Master's degree in field with 3+ years exp. OR  Doctoral degree in field with 0-2 years exp.




Travel: As needed, less than 10% domestically or internationally




Language: English

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, most work is in an office environment setting. Lighting and temperature are adequate. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.



The salary range for this role is $90,000-$110,000 range. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than
the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
