We are currently seeking a Electrician Operator located in Huron, South Dakota. The Electrician Operator Operates machines, tools and generation equipment used in manufacturing processes and resolve electrical and mechanical problems, to achieve production targets.

The schedule will include four 10-hour days each week. Every fifth week the selected candidate will be on call 24/7 for 7 days.



What You Will Do:

  • Performs routine component installations and maintenance. Maintains records of equipment usage, repair history, reliability and other similar factors.
  • Cooperates with other operators in the power plant to ensure workflow stability.
  • Reads and interprets mechanical and electrical blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Addresses equipment failures, calibrates errors and reports them to management in a timely manner.
  • Operate generation equipment on a regular basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Top Candidates Will Have:
  • Two-year technical degree in electrical construction or maintenance or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with PLC (Programable Logic Controller) and industrial instrumentation
What You Have - Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences:

Electrician Services: Knowledge of electrical power, lighting and control systems; ability to plan and perform electrical work for buildings, infrastructures, and equipment.

Level Extensive Experience:
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring and lighting.
  • Oversees and carries out all activities and tasks associated with electrician services.
  • Prepares sketches and blueprints for wiring and equipment.
  • Maintains and repairs electrical heating and ventilation equipment.
  • Ensures conformance with safety codes.
  • Troubleshoots control circuits.
Power Generation: Knowledge of working principles, methods, equipment and processes of power generation; ability to apply the knowledge appropriately within the power supply sector.

Level Extensive Experience:
  • Oversees the processes of power generation to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develops a maintenance and repair mechanism for power generation equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems in power generation processes.
  • Creates a series of criteria and standards to evaluate electric power quality.
  • Monitors energy consumption and waste inside power plants.
  • Establishes an evaluation system to monitor generator operations.
Standard Operating Procedures: Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency.

Level Extensive Experience:
  • Designs a standard operating procedure, detailing steps and activities, within a department; develops procedures, processes, and controls to implement and execute policy requirements.
  • Optimizes complex SOPs according to changes in organizational procedures.
  • Monitors the relationship between SOPs and performance improvement (e.g. quality improvement).
  • Evaluates the benefits and drawbacks of industry-specific SOPs.
  • Integrates best practices into the design, implementation and evaluation of organizational SOPs.
  • Evaluates the causes behind deviations from and modifications to existing SOPs.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Employs tools and techniques for anticipating demand and assuring capacity.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.

  • Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.
  • Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems.
  • Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.
