PC-IS Maintenance Tech

Pay up to $37 an Hour based on experience and Ramsey test

SCOPE

The person filling this position performs corrective, predictive, and preventive electrical, mechanical, power and control maintenance for equipment, machinery, and facility utilities. He/she will assist engineering projects, participate in new equipment commissioning, maintain PLC/HMI/VFD/Servo Drive programs & parameter files, and be the primary person for diagnosing equipment failures related to PLC controlled assets. PLC and/or HMI programming modifications will be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

He/she performs work in accordance with proper electrical installation and troubleshooting techniques, and insures work is performed in compliance with guidelines and requirements established by the governing bodies locally and nationally recognized.

He/she reviews manufacturers' service manuals, usage schedules, and records of electrical maintenance problems to determine optimum frequency of preventive maintenance.

He/she is responsible on their assigned shift, for electrical/mechanical projects, repairs, upgrades, and troubleshooting via PLC controlled systems.

He/she will participate inwriting Lockout Tagout procedures, Job Safety Analysis, Risk Analysis, Work Standards, Testing Procedures, and provide safety training for existing, new, and upgraded equipment.

He/she estimates costs of parts/supplies to be used during scheduled maintenance and provides input on parts deemed necessary to be kept on hand as spares.

He/she maintains records of planned and completed maintenance within the CMMS.

He/she facilitates electro/mechanical repairs as required on all production and utility related equipment.

He/she meets daily with the assigned Group Leader to discuss assignments, Work Orders, and PM needs.

He/she identifies necessary training needs and participates in coaching to further develop all members of the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of proper PPE and electrical hazards requiring protection.
  • Knowledge of The National Electrical and local electrical codes.
  • Knowledge of PLC based applications including Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000 and Siemens S7.
  • Knowledge of electrical construction and maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and procedures and related mathematics.
  • Skilled in the practical application of electrical testing devices.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical plans and complex circuit schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and install control circuits and compute electrical formulas.
  • Ability to program basic PLC based control and variable speed drives.
  • Knowledge of mechanical tools and measuring devices.
  • Ability to determine mechanical failure and facilitate repair using proper tools.
  • Ability to weld at a level of structural integrity and finish that meets food contact guidelines.
  • Knowledge of HMI devices including modification of programs (Panelview, Parker, Siemens, GE Fanuc).
  • Knowledge of general pneumatic and hydraulic controls and devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic controlled systems.
  • Ability to understand and modify Motion Control using RSLogix 5000 & Siemens Step 7 Simotion.
  • Understand the basic principles of TPM and their role in its implementation.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree in Electro/Mechanical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Robotics from a two-year college or technical school and three to five years of experience; or Industrial Electrician or Wisconsin licensed Master Electrician with three to five years related experience and verifiable proficiency in PLC, HMI, VSD, and Servo Motion basic programming and troubleshooting skills. He or she must also be knowledgeable in typical industrial control systems, SCADA, Profibus, Ethernet and/or other industrial networking methods.
