Job Summary

Medline Industries has an immediate opening for a Sr. Sourcing Manager in our Sterile Procedure Tray product division! This position will be based out of our Northfield, IL Corporate Headquarters and will offer a hybrid model of work.

The Sr. Global Sourcing Manager plays a crucial role in managing Medline’s global procurement sourcing strategies. The Sr. Sourcing Manager will oversee a team of Sourcing Category Managers.  The Sr. Sourcing Manager is tasked with ensuring the best total cost of ownership, supply redundancy and adequate capacity, and sourcing risk mitigation. Some of the activities for the manager will include negotiating supplier price reductions and analyzing price increases, resolving price discrepancies, coordination with supply chain, quality, and overseas offices, overseeing vendor relationships, and management of global sourcing function and team.

Job Description


  • Identify and source Medline branded product opportunities.


  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to support business objectives.  This includes conducting market research, managing spend, and negotiations (most favorable terms, volume discounts, promotions, cost down initiatives and long term contracts).


  • Identify cost savings opportunities through product or supplier consolidation, production efficiency gains, raw material costs, or product modifications.


  • Build and Maintain relationships with key suppliers. This involves negotiating pricing, managing performance, on-time delivery, and ensuring compliance with contracts.


  • Provide leadership and insights on domestic and global supply chains, tariff impacts, and other geo-political risks.


  • Evaluate sourcing strategies for domestic vs import suppliers or conduct Make vs Buy analysis for sourced products.


  • Lead and develop a team of sourcing professionals.  This includes training, performance management and fostering a collaborative work environment.


  • Manage activity for Medline part numbers and suppliers.   Manage day-to-day supplier and product item data to ensure smooth operations. Establish new part numbers for supplier moves, packaging optimization and PIR's.


  • Assist with the reorder buying department or quality department with problem suppliers when all efforts to resolve communication efforts have failed.


  • Provide advanced level advice to the organization and address supplier and supply problems.


  • Resolve supplier quality issues. Calculate debits for replacement products with Quality Department assistance.


Basic Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree

Relevant Work Experience


  • At least 5 years of directly related industry experience.


  • Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices and reconciling differences. 


  • Experienced in documenting procedures and internal controls.


  • At least 2 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
