Timken Belts, located in Springfield, MO, is searching for production supervisor.

Position Summary

As a Principal Environmental Engineer , you'll play a crucial role in using environmental science principles to improve public health, reduce pollution, and eliminate environmental hazards.

Summary of Responsibility:


  • Land Assessments: Conduct assessments for industrial, commercial, or residential sites to evaluate their environmental impact, especially if someone plans to build on that site.
  • Environmental Testing: Utilize specialized equipment to test soil, water, and air quality at construction sites.
  • Waste Management System Design: Improve waste management system designs to ensure safe disposal of waste materials.
  • Reclamation and Disposal: Oversee the reclamation and disposal of air, water, and land resources.
  • Site Cleanup Solutions: Find innovative solutions for site cleanup during construction projects.
  • System Evaluation and Innovation: Evaluate existing systems and design new ways to improve or replace them.
  • Field Observations and Data Collection: Conduct field observations and collect samples for environmental analysis.
  • Complaint Investigation and Reporting: Investigate and compile reports related to environmental complaints.
  • Pollution Control and Waste Treatment Planning: Develop guidelines for the proper disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Act as a regulatory arm to ensure companies comply with waste disposal and management regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:


  • BA/BS in Environmental, Health or Safety or related field is required
  • Five years minimum of environmental, health and safety experience; expertise in environmental health within a manufacturing environment a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong employee relations skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience (excel, word, powerpoint)
  • Must be able to relate to individuals at all levels, be sensitive to corporate and local needs

  • Wastewater regulations, permits and standards
  • Storm/Rainwater regulations, permits and standards
  • Spill prevention and control regulations and standards
  • Transportation of Hazardous Materials
  • Chemical management regulations and standards
  • Other regulations and standards as applicable (e.g., American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), Steel Tank Institute (STI))
  • ISO 14001 Standard
