Job Description:

The College of Professional and Continuing Studies is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute programs.  This position creates, administers, and coordinates aspects of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI).  The OLLI programs at the University of Oklahoma are dedicated to promoting lifelong learning and personal growth of older adults, age 50+, through a variety of noncredit courses.


Essential duties include:



  • Oversees the administrative activities of a designated program

  • Responsible for daily program operations including program evaluations and developing long-range plans

  • Collects and analyzes data and prepares reports

  • Ensures compliance with program regulations

  • Plans and coordinates program events

  • Develops and administers budgets for assigned projects and programs

  • Plans and oversees project management

  • Develops policies and procedures

  • Performs related duties as assigned or as required to successfully fulfill functions of the position

  • Planning and overseeing academic courses for adults age 50+

  • Work with the OLLI advisory council to ensure the highest quality programs and courses

  • Work with Program Director to recruit faculty to teach for the program on OU’s campuses in Norman, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa

  • Work with Program Director to develop and administer budgets for courses and events

  • Develop new course offerings and events

  • Work with Program Director to oversee the program’s annual fundraising campaign

  • Work with Program Director to increase annual membership

  • Responsible for daily program operations including meeting with faculty, meeting with members, coordinating logistical information and instructor needs for instruction to classroom location staff

  • Create long-term course and event planning

  • Collaborate with University of Oklahoma faculty and departments to offer new programs

  • Create awareness of the OLLI program through social media and speaking engagement

  • Oversee the twice-yearly creation of the OLLI course catalog

  • Additional duties assisting with PACS Pre-Collegiate Programs, as needed

Required Education:  Bachelor's degree, AND: 



  • 48 months of related experience.


Equivalent Substitution: Will accept 48 months of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree to equal 96 months of related experience.


Skills:



  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Able to effectively evaluate projects and programs and produce comprehensive reports

  • Must be able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations

  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build and manipulate spreadsheets

  • Financial or accounting experience to include budgeting

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to speak, read, and write concise English

  • Exacting attention to details

  • Able to communicate and build rapport with faculty, members and staff

  • Strong initiative to solve problems

  • Able to work with interdepartmental teams and initiatives

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Composition and proofreading skills

  • Basic knowledge of Facebook

  • Able to speak in front of audiences

  • Sit for prolonged periods

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.

  • Must be able to push, pull, crouch, or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
