How will you make an impact?
The Material Planner II schedules and monitors the movement of material through the production cycle, targeting to ensure we are meeting customer ship date expectations. You will report to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager and work in close collaboration with Order Administration, Sales Reps, Global Thermo Fisher sites, Buyers, Manufacturing, Inventory Control, Engineers and Product Managers.
What will you do?
Review new sales orders to schedule delivery dates based on review of material availability and capacity.
Ensure that detailed production schedules are ready and issued on time.
Communicate supply issues in a timely manner.
Monitor actual production progress and rescheduling where necessary.
Assess requests to change the current/ future production plans.
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of relevant MRP data at all times.
Be a key point of contact for production plan issue resolution.
Coordinate closely with Operations to optimize schedule adherence.
Collaborate with various departments to minimize schedule changes within the frozen window.
How will you get here?
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field Preferred
Diploma combined with relevant work experience will also be considered.
2 years related planning experience.
Demonstrated expertise in ERP/MRP Planning systems.
SAP experience Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
High proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong knowledge of planning and purchasing systems.
Strong customer service focus.
Ability to develop and provide reports to satisfy ongoing inquires on inventory, capacity and product availability.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to reliably communicate critical information.
Good problem solving and reasoning skills to deal with problems varying in complexity relative to job level.
Strong time management to ensure all tasks are being completed timely, including responses to internal customers.
