Job Summary
The Vice President is responsible to the President and assumes the responsibilities and prerogatives of the President in his/her absence. The position provides daily oversight of all campus locations and employees to ensure compliance of policies and procedures of the Tennessee Board of regents as well as other state and federal regulations.
Job Duties
Support the President with continuous review, revision, implementation, development and monitoring of operational goals and objectives - (Essential)
Provide leadership and vision in planning, budgeting, staffing, and policy development - (Essential)
Provide leadership for training and motivation of assigned staff to utilize individual capabilities and meet college growth and demands - (Essential)
Provide supervision to all departments of the College - (Essential)
Serve as the officer responsible for Affirmative Action, recruitment and retention planning for faculty and staff - (Essential)
Oversee compliance of TBR, state, federal, and accrediting agency policies and regulations - (Essential)
Conduct annual faculty and staff evaluations - (Essential)
Oversee development and delivery of orientation programs for new faculty and staff - (Essential)
Prepare, communicate, and report on strategic plans/initiatives - (Essential)
Prepare and evaluate risk assessment for the College - (Essential)
Oversee safety and security policies and protocols of the College - (Essential)
Oversee curriculum development and review - (Essential)
Assist President with master planning - (Essential)
Assist President with grant proposals and awards - (Essential)
Assist in reporting the state of the institution to the Institutional Advisory Board - (Essential)
Develop and disseminate professional development programs for faculty and staff - (Essential)
Provide oversight of departmental budget preparation and monitoring - (Essential)
Supervise and support facilities/maintenance staff and oversee physical facilities projects - (Essential)
Supervise and support Coordinators of Nursing and Allied Health, Student Services, and Correctional Programs - (Essential)
Provide direct oversight of procurement, academic, and other contracts for the College - (Essential)
Provide oversight of annual records retention reporting - (Marginal)
Provide direct oversight of annual equipment inventories and disposal of surplus property - (Essential)
Assist Student Services Coordinator and/or President in disciplinary matters - (Essential)
Serve on committees and boards as requested - (Essential)
Work after-hours for scheduled school events and travel to meetings (some overnight) as needed - (Essential)
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university Five (5) years' work experience in post-secondary career and technical education Three (3) years' supervisory experience in a technical education setting
Preferred Qualifications
Seven (7) years' experience in organizational management with administrative level experience in higher education Experience with and knowledge of Council on Occupational Education accreditation requirements, Federal Student Aid programs, TN Promise, and TN Reconnect Experience in procurement of equipment and contract bidding Experience in facilities management
