Location: Covington, LA

Summary

The Histotechnician for the Department of Comparative Pathology will primarily be responsible for preparing stained histologic slides from formalin-fixed tissues derived from necropsy examinations of nonhuman primates. Additional duties include preparing frozen sections and slides from frozen tissues, paraffin block and slide maintenance, lab equipment/supplies maintenance, and other lab duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Medical Laboratory Certification


• Four (4) years directly related work experience in histology

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science


• Four years' Pathology laboratory experience


• ASCP Histotechnician Certification
