Position OverviewMore than perhaps any other factor, the degree to which a university attracts and retains qualified students determines the success or failure of that institution. The Enrollment Management division is a key player in this activity and has a profound effect on the institution's success. The division is committed to developing a data-informed, forward-looking, comprehensive enrollment strategy that enables the institution to pursue strategic goals in an integrated and intentional manner.


The Enrollment Management Shared Services Center (EMSSC) provides front-line services and facilitates critical back-office processing to students on behalf of all the units within Enrollment Management (specifically, Financial Aid & Scholarships, Graduate Admissions, Registrar and Undergraduate Admissions) and provides overall project management and office support for the organization.


The Enrollment Management Project Manager area report directly to the EM SSC Manager and will work with EM leadership and other university colleagues to design and implement strategies that support the goals of Enrollment Management Services. This position provides project coordination for EM projects and initiatives across campus. This includes tasks associated with developing project plans, budget tracking, resource requirements, process improvement analysis, risk management, communication mechanisms, project execution and relationship management.


This position supports the project management area of Enrollment Management and is required to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity, have excellent follow-through and time management skills.Job Description50 % - Project Management

• Assists EM Project Manager with project management for a variety of projects with concurrent timelines.


• Assists with producing project documentation and project updates.


• Utilizes PPM tool to develop, update and track project timelines.


• Coordinates meetings with various stakeholders and project team members.


• Assists with identifying and assigning action items.


• Produces accurate and timely work.

50% - Process Improvement

• Utilizes research and knowledge related to coursework in the Higher Education Administration program to identify best practices in the higher education student services and one-stop areas and discusses and makes recommendations for changes at KU.


• Develops process improvement visual workflows using mapping tools.


• Works with key stakeholders to identify possible methods of increasing efficiency, improving communication and service delivery.

Required Qualifications

1. KU Graduate Student in good academic standing. During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).


2. Demonstrated effective written communications skills, as evidenced in application materials.


3. Eligibility for Federal Work Study.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in Enrollment Management, Financial Aid, Scholarships, Admissions, Academic Advising, Policy, Project Management or another related field.
