The Interlibrary and Circulation Specialist supports Stetson University by providing excellent customer service to all library users and by locating and borrowing materials from other libraries for Stetson library users. Serving as a member of the duPont-Ball Library Team, the ILL and Circulation Specialist will be responsible for tasks involved in the interlibrary loan (ILL) process and in Circulation Department services. Processing tasks include, but are not limited to, working with OCLC's ILL borrowing module; requesting and processing materials from other libraries and making them available to Stetson University users; and staffing the library's Information Desk. In alignment with Stetson's Strategic Priorities, the ILL and Circulation Specialist will support student and faculty success by providing needed materials for study and comprehension while working in an inclusive library environment. ESSENT I A L JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment duties include, but are not limited to:
Process all ILL borrowing requests and ensure the requested item is delivered to the library user
Return borrowed items when patrons return them by processing the item for shipment through Stetson's post office
Coordinate with circulation staff to make borrowed physical items available to the library user
Coordinate with the Acquisitions Department to purchase items not available through interlibrary loan
Maintain copyright log for ILL borrowing; maintain ILL borrowing and lending statistics and produce an annual report for each fiscal year; order supplies for ILL
Maintain procedures documentation for ILL borrowing
Stay current with the latest ILL practices and procedures
Train and supervise ILL student employee
Serve as back-up for ILL Lending, including processing requests and packaging items for shipment
Staff the Circulation Desk as necessary, handling numerous circulation-related transactions including checking out, checking in, and renewing library materials, and creating and editing user records
Open library building, occasionally, when Circulation Coordinator is unable to do so
Employ special procedures for AV equipment, including erasing data, recharging devices, ensuring that contents are included when items are checked in and out, and reporting broken equipment
Answer questions from library patrons about library policies and procedures; answer basic reference questions and refer more complicated queries to the on-call librarian
Assist patrons with the use of computers, printers, copier, and scanner; troubleshoot routine problems encountered by patrons in their use of library equipment
Collaborate with Circulation Supervisors to train and supervise Circulation student employees
Assist with special shelving projects in the circulating collection as necessary
Perform other site and position specific functions as assigned
Required Skills
Ability to work in-person, 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday, beginning at 8 am Tuesday - Friday, and beginning at 9:30 am on Saturday

Work Environment: The duPont-Ball Library is a typical academic library with spaces for collaboration, discussion, or independent study. Noise levels are at a medium level on the main floor where collaborative study is encouraged. The perimeter areas in the building are more conducive to independent study.
