The department of Psychiatry has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Project Manager to work onsite on the UHealth Campus. The Project Manager, Research Support (A) coordinates and leads efforts in a variety of research activities that are complex and wide in scope. Moreover, the Project Manager, Research Support (A) operates with the goal of ensuring that the collection of data and administration of studies are performed efficiently and in compliance with applicable guidelines.



CORE JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Aids in the evaluation of problems with workflow, organization, and planning and develops appropriate analytical approaches.

  • Maintains multiple protocol books and chronicles manuscript preparation.

  • Performs analyses of computerized datasets using standard packages to import, update, and manipulate datasets.

  • Presents studies' results at professional scientific meetings and conferences.

  • Writes manuscripts and journal articles for peer-reviewed medical journals.

  • Ensures that research program objectives are communicated, met, and results are documented.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS



The Project Manager will report to the Director of Research in the Department of Psychiatry. Under the direction and guidance of the PI and/or designated investigator, the Project Manager will understand and interpret research protocols and procedures. He/she will be responsible for site initiation for FDA-regulated studies and implementation of federally funded studies. The Project Manager will train and supervise research associates and coordinators to recruit participants into the study and review on a weekly basis the percentage of participants recruited. The PM will make decisions on resource allocation and ensure coverage across trials. He/she will coordinate routine activities of clinical studies including data maintenance, grant expenditure adherence, project evaluation, meeting scheduling, and research subject interfacing. The Project Manager will perform routine checks for data quality assurance across projects. The PM will work closely with the Regulatory Manager to ensure all submissions are up-to-date and ensure compliance with study procedures. The incumbent will ensure staff are properly trained and that study medication is kept secure and under appropriate temperature conditions. He/she will ensure staff maintain accurate study drug accountability and bio-specimen inventory. Ensure all research is undertaken according to Good Clinical Practice and ensure compliance with protocol. Reviews study progress, identifies areas of opportunity, and recommends solutions. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Based on project need, the Project Manager may commute to recruit and administer assessments in various facilities in South Florida to meet enrollment targets. Additionally, the Project Manager may participate in off-site investigator training in order to learn about the project and the specific requirements of the protocol.
