This position is focused on administering the Epic Cogito tools and systems. This involves routine tasks and monitoring, upgrade management, and configuration to support the advancement of analytics at UC Health. This position aims to function as an advanced technical lead to coordinate, validate, and deliver short and long-term enterprise data management initiatives. This individual designs, develops, implements, maintains, and continuously refines data warehouse architectures using the Epic Cogito framework, logical and physical data models, application / transactional interfaces, data integration methods, and end-to-end data flows. This position will need to have a clear understanding of the data and work with key stakeholders in order to validate accurate results and reconcile discrepancies when necessary.

• Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree. Preferred: Masters Degree.


• Epic Data (Caboodle / Clarity) certified within six months.


• 1-2 Years equivalent experience - Minimum Required. 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience - Preferred.


• 4 years of equivalent experience can substitute for a BA/BS Degree.


• Demonstrated experience and highly skilled with database concepts SQL Server, SSIS, T-SQL, query optimization tools and techniques, data modeling techniques, and relational database design.


• Good understanding of the features available in SQL Server to achieve a scalable database solution.


• Epic Cogito Systems Administration certification is required in the first 6 months of employment, existing certification is preferred.

Job Function: Development of Data Marts/Warehousing/Scripts:
• Design & document the organization's enterprise data architecture, collaborating with multiple operational departments and IS&T stakeholders.
• Architect the enterprise Caboodle strategy, with a clearly documented process of integrating data into Caboodle from various sources.
• Oversees the migration into the Epic Caboodle data warehouse of data from legacy systems and external data to new solutions.
• Works with users to automate schedule of reporting and other data driven functions.
• Work with data requestor or stakeholder to validate the results.
• Determines and manages workload priorities.

Job Function: Monitoring and Problem Resolution:
• Applies knowledge of resources, constraints, and organizational values in decision-making process.
• Upgrades to current state versions on Business Intelligence Applications (Tableau, Business Objects, etc.) to minimize problems and in accordance with vendor specifications.
Job Function: Planning:
• Works extensively with department representatives to understand and define their database and/or data mart needs.
• Works work Business Intelligence staff, department representatives and vendors as necessary to provide technical expertise and assistance in installation, upgrade, and maintenance of new data base systems.
• Works with other department staff to implement databases and migrations to new versions.

Job Function: Project Support:
• Provides task level detail for project plans, including suggested schedules.
• Provides accurate and timely individual status reports.
• Documents and ensures timely resolution of project issues.
• Coordinates effectively with team members.
• Supports the institution's internal and external, strategic and operational reporting needs Informs management of all issues that are influencing or will impact assignment.

Job Function: Documentation:
• Own and assist in data model documentation, data dictionary, data flow, data mapping, and other data governance documentation.
• Appropriately documents application information, backup and disaster recovery procedures, and database structures.
• Provides necessary documentation for network, installations, configurations, procedures, and other related network functions.
• Identifies data sources and constructs data diagrams, data flow diagrams, and documents processes.

Job Function: Other Duties:
