POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of the Chief Human Resources Officer is to strengthen the credibility and process of HR in the organization by taking ownership of the global HR Business Partner organization (including employee relations, learning & talent development, and employee wellbeing). This highly visible leader will be responsible for developing and implementing these aspects of the human resources strategy in support of the company's overall purpose/vision/mission/culture and key strategic priorities of accelerating profitable growth, driving productivity & operational excellence and empowering people. It is important that HR be proactive and anticipatory in delivering forward leaning HR solutions. The leader must also be aware of evolving government influences on management, policies, processes and practices and work to ensure that the company is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations concerning employment practices, employee relations, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Serve as a strategic advisor, providing advice and working collaboratively across the HR team and with senior business leaders to drive strategic initiatives and results and assist the business in decision making.

  • Translate strategic and tactical business plans into HR actionable and measurable plans.

  • Improve efficiency, accountability and performance metrics and planning, through enhanced use of data and analytics, and recommending and promoting policies and programs that support the company's goals and drive greater employee engagement.

  • Drive positive employee relations strategies and programs to promote productive working relationships for all employees.

  • Lead a team of four HR Directors/Business Partners (4 direct/functional reports and a total HR team of approximately 13) in the US, EUCAN, and Australia who also have accountability for learning/talent development and employee wellbeing.

  • Advance the company's training, talent and leadership development strategy.

  • Advise leaders and senior partners on organization design, change management, entry into new markets, and how to best solve individual performance, interpersonal, and communications issues.

  • Strongly collaborate with other senior leaders in HR (e.g., Comp & Bens, Strategy & Ops, Culture, Diversity & Inclusion, and Talent Acquisition) to deliver results.

  • Build and lead an effective and respected HR team. Ensure that the team is business savvy, proactive, responsive, helpful, and anticipatory.

  • Be a spokesperson for the company on human resource issues; demonstrating sophistication in dealing with both internal and external stakeholders. He/she must be both a company and employee advocate, staying close to the employee base while keeping the best interests of the company and shareholders in mind at all times.

  • Be aware of evolving global government influences on management, policies, processes, and practices, and work to ensure that the firm is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations concerning employment practices, employee health and safety, employee and labor relations, Works Councils, etc.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate for this position will most likely have at least 15 years of progress HR experience at a public company, including experience within a corporate, regulated, global environment, ideally with exposure to direct interactions with the Board of Directors. Successful experience and demonstrated effectiveness as a leader, with the proven ability to develop and motivate diverse talent, will be critical. Prefer a candidate with at least five years as a number one.

  • Ability to lead and develop team members through influence and to deliver results with and through others.

  • Ability to apply creative and forward-thinking approaches to talent while focusing on delivering results.

  • Highly developed influencing and communication and listening skills, and the presence, experience, and gravitas to effectively represent the company to a variety of audiences.

  • Strong experience in leading learning/talent development preferred.

  • HRIS/data analytics experience preferred.

  • Pharmaceutical/Life-Sciences knowledge/experience preferred but not required.


Education: Undergraduate degree required. Master's degree or its experiential equivalent in business or human resources is preferable.
