Salary: $200,000.00 USD Annually - $260,000.00 USD Annually

Description: FDA Business Development Lead


Responsibilities:




  • Relationship Management: Establish, strengthen, and advance trusted relationships with the FDA and Prevention (FDA).


  • Opportunity Identification: Identify, qualify, and support the capture and closure of health business opportunities.


  • Mission Needs Facilitation: Facilitate mission needs identification and market the full range of corporate capabilities.


  • Collaboration: Maximize external and internal collaboration to build Leidos' reputation and grow presence within the FDA.


  • Account Planning: Develop and manage the account plan for the FDA space and lead the strategy for customer engagement.


  • Opportunity Development: Participate in the identification and development of new opportunities and drive the win strategy for strategic captures.


Key Activities:




  • Customer Assessments: Conduct customer assessments and manage discretionary investment funds.


  • Marketing Communications: Support marketing communications and build relationships with external customers.


  • Gap Identification: Identify gaps and emerging requirements, perform market and economic analysis, conduct business intelligence, and monitor competitor activity.


  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with business development professionals, including capture managers, BD leads, and BD analysts, to achieve long-term business development goals.


  • Strategic Partnerships: Focus on strategic partnerships for designated customers and develop customer-specific account strategies and goals.


  • Client Engagement: Develop strategic and tactical plans to support client engagement and growth.


  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert in the FDA space, engaging with key influencers and decision-makers.


  • Leadership: Provide direction and leadership on the Division's strategy-to-action plans and assist in achieving key milestones.


  • Business Development Process: Participate in the business development process, including pipeline reviews, opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, and proposal reviews.


  • Customer Advocacy: Serve as a customer advocate by identifying mission needs and representing the customer perspective.


  • Market Research: Perform market research, including customer preferences, competitive analysis, and incumbent contractor strengths and weaknesses.


  • Community Engagement: Act as a subject matter expert in the community, discussing and explaining differentiated capabilities in Leidos programs.


Basic Qualifications:




  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 15+ years of extensive professional knowledge and progressive leadership experience. MBA preferred.


  • Experience: 10+ years of direct work experience and/or contracting experience with an in-depth understanding of FDA and other HHS OpDivs.


  • Subject Matter Expertise: Relevant SME in the HHS and Health & Human Services communities.


Minimum Qualifications:




  • Network Leverage: Demonstrable ability to leverage a pre-existing network of clients or contacts.


  • Collaboration: Prior experience in collaboration efforts outside the organization.


  • Executive Presence: Poised, exceptional executive presence, and highly articulate.


  • Influence: Proven ability to positively influence change at different levels of the organization.


Preferred Qualifications:




  • Advanced Degree: Master's degree in business administration or a health-related field.


  • Team Management: Experience directing a distributed team and managing multiple customers, programs, and projects.


  • Relationship Building: Experience in relationship building that increases market penetration and leads to increased opportunities with new and existing clients.


  • Business Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and grow all aspects of a business area successfully, including customers, people, programs, financials, and new business over multiple years.


  • Collaboration Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with supporting functions and other delivery organizations for win/win results.


  • Capture Tactics: Experience with breaking into new accounts/customers through effective capture tactics.
