  • Provides supervision and training to adults with intellectual disabilities to promote each individual's growth toward his/her highest potential.
  • Conducts house staff meetings at a frequency set forth by the department.
  • Works cooperatively with the individual, his/her family, friends, staff, advocates and/or guardians, and other programs as well as other agencies to assemble a team that is optimal for the planning process as well as preferred by the individual.
  • Responsible for the implementation of individual programs, including behavioral programs, program documentation, directing feedback to the team, and ensuring that the necessary materials and resources are present to carry out the specific programs.
  • Trains staff to implement Individual Plans and Behavior Plans.
  • Meets with the individual and staff to ensure proper implementation strategies are being employed.
  • Reviews data records as needed (daily, weekly, or monthly), to ensure implementation and to monitor programs for efficiency and progress, making revisions or retraining staff to increase opportunities for success.
  • Supervises the administration of medication including giving medication, supervising other staff giving medication, monitoring the Medication Administration Records (MAR), reordering medications, supervising staff's counting medications to ensure that there is sufficient medication present at all times, and reporting problems and errors promptly to the designated person through the designated means.
  • Maintains current program files, house files, and postings that are up-to-date and in accordance with Agency policy and regulations.
  • Serves as the primary contact and is responsible for the flow of communication to house staff, management staff, other departments, other agencies, professionals, and families; determines and communicates what information needs to be shared, when, and to whom.
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with all laws, such as HIPAA and Agency policy for both individuals served and staff.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and personalized environment for each individual in the home, consistent with relevant regulations and professional standards; checking the home(s) routinely and reporting all safety issues immediately, and submitting Maintenance Request Forms that are appropriate and timely.
  • Coordinates and oversees activities in the home, ensuring that quality personalized activities are planned and carried out.
  • Transports or supervises staff who transport individuals to medical appointments, adjunct therapies, and other services, obtains familial or guardianship permission as required, and distributes the resulting paperwork.
  • Responsible for the utilization and maintenance schedule of the Agency vehicle assigned to the home and reports any problems to the Deputy Director or designee.
  • Completes all End of the Month@ paperwork as requested accurately and timely.
  • Responds timely to internal and external customers (e.g., families, other departments) to ensure service excellence.
  • Creates and promotes a work environment that encourages recognition, communication, professional development, and teamwork while demonstrating a commitment to Agency values, missions, and goals.
  • Participates in the hiring of staff assigned to his/her home.
  • Responsible for orienting and training of staff on the job in all aspects of their duties within required time frames.
  • Supervises and evaluates designated staff under the direction of the Deputy Director or designee.
  • Is responsible for staff development which includes orientation, the timely completion of staff training requirements as dictated by Agency policy, and individualized initiatives to encourage retention and staff growth, while reducing staff turnover.
  • Provides the level of staff support needed at each site as dictated by individual needs (which may change) in a cost-effective manner and within the limitations of Agency policies governing staff utilization.
  • Reviews and corrects staff's time sheet printouts for accuracy and submits them to the Deputy Director or designee.
  • Maintains costs within budget for the home(s) by reviewing expenditures and the use of resources.
  • Manages resources to increase the quality of life of each individual served by providing activities for preferred outcomes.
  • Takes necessary action in emergencies in accordance with agency policies and reports such incidents on appropriate forms and/or CPS.
  • Uses crisis intervention techniques in emergencies when individuals served are in danger of injuring themselves or others.
  • Uses technology for the completion of specified job duties and assists staff in learning to use the technology.
  • Attends and participates in in-service training, staff meetings, and other activities to facilitate professional development.
  • Attends work regularly according to assigned work schedule and in accordance with Agency policy.
  • Works a flexible schedule consisting of weekend and evening hours.
  • Assumes on-site, on-call duties as assigned.
  • Follows instructions.
  • Contributes to a work atmosphere in a manner that is positive, enthusiastic, respectful, and courteous.
  • Is a positive role model for individuals served and Agency staff.
  • Works cooperatively with others including all staff, supervisors, administrators, co-workers, individuals served, community professionals, customers, vendors, and the public.
  • Assumes other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: Associate of Arts degree with emphasis in the areas of education, psychology, social sciences, or a related field.EXPERIENCE:

  • At least two years of experience working directly with people who have co-occurring diagnoses.
  • A minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
  • Must have a vehicle and an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency's insurance carrier and by Agency policy
