JOB SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for supervising all aspects of the multi-temperature warehouse operations including managing associates performing receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping of goods across different temperature zones. This role involves supervising a team of warehouse staff and optimizing workflows to ensure the integrity and quality of products while meeting customer demands and organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in warehouse management, and a thorough understanding of logistics in a multi-temperature environment. The facility supports day and/or night, weekend and holiday shifts.



DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
The Warehouse Operations Manager supervises and coordinates associates performing all activities within a multi-temperature warehouse operation. This role involves leading and motivating a team of warehouse staff while overseeing inventory management and optimizing order fulfillment processes. The Operations Manager identifies process improvement opportunities, enforces safety and quality assurance standards, while managing and ensuring adherence to established KPI's. Additionally, this person manages vendor relationships, collaborates with customer service teams, utilizes technology tools, drives continuous improvement initiatives, while managing and ensuring adherence to established KPI's.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Warehouse Management:



  • With respect to associates in assigned distribution center areas, either directly or through independent recommendation: hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, and/or responsibly direct associates and/or adjusting associate complaints.

  • Supervise and coordinate all activities within the multi-temperature warehouse operations.

  • Supervise inventory management processes including receiving, rotation, stock replenishment, and cycle counting.

  • Train, evaluate, and motivate supervised associates to optimize order picking, packing, and shipping processes to meet customer orders and service level agreements.


Team Leadership:





  • Lead and motivate a team of warehouse supervisors, team leaders, and warehouse associates.

  • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a high level of productivity, accuracy, and quality in operations.


Compliance and Safety:





  • Ensure compliance with logistics standards and regulations including temperature monitoring, product traceability, and quality control measures.

  • Enforce safety protocols and quality assurance standards, conducting regular inspections, audits, and training sessions to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment.


Process and Performance Optimization:





  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in warehouse operations across all temperature zones.

  • Implement efficiency enhancements and streamline workflows to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.

  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and temperature monitoring devices to track inventory, monitor warehouse conditions, and optimize operations.


Vendor and Customer Management:





  • Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers, and service providers involved in product transportation and storage.

  • Collaborate with customer service teams to address customer inquiries, resolve order discrepancies, and provide timely updates on order status and delivery schedules.



Budget and Continuous Improvement:





  • Develop and manage the budget for warehouse operations.

  • Monitor expenses and allocate resources effectively to support operational requirements and strategic initiatives.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse operations leveraging data analysis, feedback from stakeholders, and industry best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.


Education/Training/Experience/Skills:





  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Three to five years of experience supervising employees in a warehouse management context, with experience in chill and/or frozen warehouse operations is preferred.

  • Certification in warehouse management and/or cold chain logistics (e.g., CSCP, GCCC) is preferred.


Skills:





  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of cold chain logistics principles.

  • Analytical skills and the ability to interpret data.

  • Effective problem solving and communication skills.

  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and positive attitude.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, manage time efficiently, and attend to details.

  • Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly desired.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:



This position has a desk in a distribution center office, but the position requires significant time supervising on the warehouse floor. The office is situated in a warehouse office setting and climate-controlled environment. Supervising the warehouse floor requires work throughout various parts of the warehouse. The warehouse is a standard multi-temperature warehouse environment where the temperatures vary considerably:




  • General indoor warehouse temperature is partially dependent upon the outdoor temperature.

  • Chill/Produce refrigerated coolers are maintained at 40-45 degrees.

  • Frozen refrigerated coolers are maintained between 0 and 25 degrees.

  • Some of the cold environments require special uniforms.




COMPENSATION:


The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $120,000.00 annually. The actual starting pay will be determined by a number of qualifications, including, experience and relevant skills.
