The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and inclusive excellence of the academic community.

Essential Duties

  • Conduct clinical consultations/evaluations with students seeking mental health support and provide them with recommendations for care.
  • Provide in-person and remote mental health services to students including individual short-term therapy, psychiatric referrals, assessment of suicide/homicide or other danger to the community, evaluations pertaining to hospitalization or withdrawal from school.

  • Serve on committees regarding the development of policies, procedures and visions across the university as it pertains to mental health.
  • Regularly attend department, division and university wide meetings.
  • This is not an “on call” position, but the clinician may need to be available outside of regular business hours in the event of a critical incident on campus. The clinician may also be asked to attend university events outside regular business hours a few times a year (e.g. graduation, “Spring Day,” new student orientation, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience (including training experiences) providing short-term counseling and therapy. New professionals are encouraged to apply.
  • As clinical evaluation is a primary aspect of this role, experience in single appointment assessment, solution focused treatment, and risk assessment is essential.
  • Preference given to candidates with experience working with college-aged populations or in a higher education setting.

Work Environment

  • Typical office setting with extensive sitting, computer, phone and meetings.
  • Ability to travel around campus for work related events and duties.
