We are currently seeking Drayage Dispatchers for a Trucking company located near the Torrance area. The right candidate will coordinate the transportation of intermodal shipments and dispatch import/exports, transload freight for local and regional customers.
100%- Onsite
Salary: $25-$30hr DOE
Must have Drayage Dispatching Experience.
Responsibilities:
Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Scheduling and dispatching drivers, tractors, and chassis equipment to and from customers, marine terminals, rail terminals, and other locations.
Work with customers and carriers for appointments and proper paperwork.
Tracking and tracing container shipments via terminal portal.
Contacting customers immediately if there are any discrepancies and responding to emails in a timely manner.
Follow up and check on bookings and delivery orders.
Negotiate any additional charges ensuring accuracy of information. Obtain appropriate support documentation if/when needed.
Ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all import/export work orders.
Confirm all information at port and rails are updated to pick-up or receive import/ export containers.
Update customers of any ongoing issues, questions, etc. that may arise during the course of delivery/pick-up.
Monitor emails and respond to customers in a timely manner.
Requirements:
High School Diploma required.
Minimum 3 years full time experience in LA/LB port drayage dispatching and operations withing the trucking industry.
Strong knowledge of Ports.
2+ years of experience in the transportation & warehousing industry helpful.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation skills.
