Meta is seeking Research Engineer to join its Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) organization, an organization focused on making significant advances in AI. We are seeking talented research engineer with experience in LLMs and vision-language models to join the team. They will investigate how to build contextually aware agents that will be the foundation for a new paradigm in how we interact with computers. The chosen candidate will work with a diverse interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and cross-functional partners. They will have access cutting-edge technology, resources, and research facilities.
Research Engineer, Multi-Modal - FAIR Responsibilities:
Apply relevant AI and machine learning techniques to build intelligent rich code generation products
Develop novel, accurate AI algorithms and advanced systems for digital and AR agents
Define use cases and develop methodology and benchmarks to evaluate different approaches
Define, build and benchmark new capabilities in AI Agents
Minimum Qualifications:
MS or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
Industry experience in machine learning research and deployment
Experience in Programming: Python, PyTorch
Experience in ML systems: AI infrastructure, machine learning accelerators, high performance computing, GPU architecture, machine learning frameworks, model-parallel Transformer-based models, reinforcement learning
Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with distributed systems or on-device algorithm development
Experience with leading research projects until publication
High performance code and profiling experience

$56.25/hour to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
