How You Will Make an Impact
A working Technician Team Lead is responsible for completing the installation or assembly of specialty truck equipment. They will provide support to production/shop floor as a first line resource for technicians of all skills and experience. The Team Lead has the responsibility and authority to use their education, experience, and professional discretion to direct a small group of technicians. The Team Lead is also responsible for directing a portion of the production floor in the up-fit or manufacturing processes needed to produce high-quality vocational vehicles to the customers.
The Nuts and Bolts
Install truck bodies of all makes and models, or manufacture bodies of various kinds
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems
Fit and assemble components using hand tools and power tools such as drill, riveter, etc.
Measure and cut wood and metal materials
Install ladder racks, back up cameras, wood floors, interior lining, insulation and fixtures using hand tools such as hammer, file and screwdriver. Power tools such as band saw, sander and hand drill.
Install electrical wiring for dome lights, taillights, brake lights and other equipment according to specified procedures.
Maintain a safe work environment and encourage team to follow suit
Train employees as needed to perform job duties
Participate and support continuous improvement activities
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems
Assist Shop Lead with training, inventory and parts needs.
Provide feedback to Shop Leads on safety and performance of assigned team
Required Credentials
High School diploma or GED preferred
Minimum 3 years of Manufacturing /Mechanical related experience
Technician | Fabricator | Assembler Tier Level III or IV
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE:
Effective oral and written communication; excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills
Intermediate to Advanced Mechanical Knowledge
Intermediate to Advanced Electrical Knowledge; both AC and DC circuitry
The ability to collaborate with a multi-department team
Ability to work overtime and varied shift assignments as required
Basic welding skills
Ability to operate power hand tools
Experience with wiring or hydraulics preferred
