Job Description:

The IT Network Engineer – Network designs, installs, and maintains overall Company information systems architecture with an emphasis on networking hardware, software, and security. The incumbent employs a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving and implementation of solutions involving diverse systems. Works directly with development and infrastructure teams along with the user community to deliver business value. Trusted advisor to IT management in both tactical and strategic planning.


 


Essential Functions

  • Design, implement and maintain LAN/WAN/Wireless/Security/VoIP/PLC network infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with other IT engineers and technicians to deploy and sustain network components.

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of virtualization, operating systems, and storage infrastructure.

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of zero-trust frameworks.

  • Asist in overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems.

  • Identify and integrate innovative technologies into the existing environment.

  • Work with users to define and solve computer hardware/software/development problems, including project scoping and requirements analysis.

  • Execute IT projects by collaborating with various stakeholders and third-party professional services to ensure successful implementation of IT solutions.

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for network and system infrastructure.

  • Work with limited supervision, taking initiative and acting independently to resolve problems.


 


Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs)



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent experience or relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Comp TIA Network+) will also be considered.

  • 4 to 8 years of proven experience in network design, implementation, and management.



  • Proficiency in network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.



  • Familiarity with Zero Trust principles and integrating Zscaler into existing network infrastructures to achieve comprehensive security and seamless access.

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and resourcefulness.

  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and best practices

  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on projects to completion

  • Must maintain confidentiality of data, systems, general information, and passwords

  • A positive “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn new things

Education and Experience Requirements



  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry certifications and experience.

  • Minimum of four years of experience working with IT hardware and software.

  • Minimum of three years supporting IT systems in a manufacturing or similarly complex environment preferred.




Preferred Qualifications



  • Proven experience with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions, specifically Zscaler (ZIA and ZPA).



  • Familiarity utilizing Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and security enforcement



  • Experience with Fortinet, HPE/Aruba.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams.


 


Physical Requirements


Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, Physical requirements: Use keyboard and mouse at least 80% of the day, able to visit users and systems in all areas of the plant.


The worker must be able to access, analyze and otherwise work with, enter information stored in or obtained through the company's computer system, and to communicate effectively with co-workers and third parties who have business dealings with the Company's Human Resources operations.


 


Travel Requirements


Up to 5% domestic travel may be required.
