Position Summary

Thales Cloud Protection Licensing is hiring for a Hardware Test Automation Engineer.

As a member of CPL Operations Engineering team, the Test Automation Engineer in Reston VA, will be instrumental in the identification and implementation of test automation strategy and methodology that covers the full product portfolio of Cloud Protection & Licensing, including Hardware Security Modules in various hardware form factors. The primary objective is to improve products quality, reduce time to market and drive productivity improvements by the application of automation for products testing during manufacturing process.

The Hardware Test Automation Engineer will be a visionary, an agent of change and leader, who with minimal supervision, will work closely with systems, hardware, software, security, and other test engineers to ensure timely delivery of quality products. The Hardwar Test Automation Engineer will also work closely with product and program managers, customers, and 3rd parties as necessary, providing support throughout the lifecycle.

Key Areas of Responsibility 

•    Lead testing projects including, but not limited to: 
o    Driving all activities and projects with cross-functional team, such as Project planning, execution, issue resolution and delivery.
o    Actively participate in design reviews, making recommendations for product quality, usability and supportability improvements.
o    Ensure testing projects that are planned thoroughly and test plans and methodology reviewed with cross-functional team.
o    Execute tests as needed and within the project, timelines to ensure issues are managed and resolved prior to their project impact. 
o    Proactively provide progress and issue updates to the cross functional team. 
•    Work collaboratively with the QA and Design Engineering teams on recommending and implementing test process, tool etc. improvements to ensure we are continually improving our testing methodologies, and ultimately the quality of our products.
•    Develop test automation scripts to automate new feature tests, and continually expand on regression test case automation.
•    Required to build and maintain test environments as needed for project delivery.

Basic Qualifications
 

•    1 to 3+ years of experience in developing test automation scripts/programs.
•    Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or related field. 
•    Demonstrated experience designing and implementing test cases to include: to cover hardware assembly process and functional test and Demonstrated operations or manufacturing support experience with strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple issues at one time.
•    Prior experience communicating technical information and concepts in a variety of formats (both written and verbal)
•    Excellent team player with proven ability to accomplish goals through collaboration.
•    Ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity leveraging problem solving skills and a willingness to learn with only high-level direction and Quick learner with a commitment to continued education and a deep desire to learn a spectrum of technical issues about our Products and Processes.

Other Requirements

•    2+ years of experience in in hardware and or product testing in a production environment.
•    Master's degree in science or related field. 
•    LabView and WinBatch programming skills. 
•    Hands on experience in test automation. 
•    Must understand quality requirements in a manufacturing environment.
•    Prior experience with Lean or Six Sigma to be strategic and assess long-term vision for product manufacturability.

Physical Demands
•    Prolonged period working on the computer. 

Special Position Requirements

•    Travel: 25%, domestically and/or internationally.
