The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for the swing/grave shift, project, or aspect of maintenance/engineering operations which may include scheduling employees, assigning daily work and projects, training and coaching employees, inspecting work for quality and productivity, and initiating corrective and/or disciplinary action as needed.

Must be able work in a fast-paced environment.
Most of the work takes place indoors.
Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures - i.e., freezers, loading dock.
Physical Demands:
Ability to r each overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, and stooping. Climb ladders of various heights.
Carrying, lifting, pushing and/or pulling items weighing up to 100-300 lbs.
Ability to stand entire shift.

Hours of operation may vary based upon business needs, a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and hours are required.

Education and Experience:
Highschool diploma or GED required.
Relevant experience in restaurant or hotel food preparation preferred.
Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:
Inspect work assignments to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner and within specifications. Monitor performance and recommend and/or initiate disciplinary or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies. Alert management of potentially serious issues.
Perform maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating, air conditioning (HVAC), ventilation, and water treatment systems, swimming pool and water features, etc.
Assist in educating/training employees on current safety issues to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and safety regulations. Inform management of hazardous situations, emergencies or threats to the security of guests, employees or hotel assets.
Follow and enforce procedures that ensure the security of inventory such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc., replenishes supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and minimized waste.
Ensure that equipment is prepared and operational for the following days' work.
Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance as outlined in the Preventative Maintenance Program (e.g. Transcendent, Alice, etc.).
Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
May assist with other duties as assigned.
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
Display daily professional, courteous, attentive, helpful, and positive attitude towards all guests, fellow employees, and managers.
Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team to reach common goals.
Perform other job duties as requested by supervisors/managers as other job duties may be assigned as needed.
Understanding Sonesta's company and safety policies and maintain compliance with OSHA and the health department requirements.
May serve as Manager of Duty for engineering as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Some college of advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance/and/or construction or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hotel maintenance and supervisory experience preferred. Professional certification and license if required by law.
Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields. Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate, licensed plumber and/or journeyman statues for electrician and carpenter may be require.
Reading and writing abilities are utilized in order to document or record all tasks completed, to order supplies, to receive their instructions for the day and/or to read equipment repair manuals.
Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.
Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
Valid Driver's License preferred.
Professional verbal communication skills.
Reading and writing abilities to understand departmental correspondence and complete all required departmental documents.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including dealing with difficult guests.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

$41.21-$43..04 - Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills and job specific/overall experience.
