SUMMARY: The Load Planner is responsible for providing support to the Dispatch Coordinators.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare pick lists from Shipping Plan


• Prepare and distribute Bill of Ladings at the shipping window for the drivers


• Send appropriate paperwork to truck lines and outside processors for dispatched loads


• Dispatch loads to move material 


• Support & communicate with the Sales group to meet special customer requirements and on time deliveries 


• Maintain shipping log throughout the day / Communication tool for scheduling, Sales, carriers


• Communicate with scheduling to ensure material will be ready to coincide with truck apt.


• Check daily shipping plan to see what ships


• Maintain Shipping & Receiving Schedule


• Verify freight rates with Freight Rate Master (shared drive) 


• Receiving Inbound material into D3656


• Resolve freight OCM’s (Order cost maintenance)


• Scanning documents into imaging program


• Identify As is banding tags  - Communicate with crane operator on AS IS shipments that need re-tagged


• Additional duties as assigned

MATERIAL & PRODUCTS (For Plant use only):

Various types of steel which may include, but not limited to galvanized, CR, and HR P&O.

APPLICABLE METHODS USED (Procedures, Manuals, associated references):

BMS System, procedures, work instruction, forms, control plan

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, experience, certifications, licenses or special skills):

• High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience; 


• English spoken and written; 


• Previous experience would be an asset.  


• Logistics and Manufacturing knowledge preferred.
