Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Senior Manager, Tax Operations in our Boston/Foxboro, MA locations:

The SE Tax & Customs Department operates as a discreet function within the Global Finance Department and is lead by the SVP Tax & Customs who is based in Paris. SE Regional Tax VPs (Americas, EMEAS-Paris, APAC-Beijing) manage the tax operations in the three geographic regions. The Americas Region is comprised of approximately 20 tax professionals with key market focus on the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil with collective sales of $14+ billion.

What do you get to do in this position?


  • Monitor the tax landscape and assist with the ongoing analysis of tax positions and internal controls to identify and address potential tax burdens and risks

  • Develop and implement processes to help optimize and streamline tasks of the Americas Tax Department

  • Assist in managing Federal and State income tax audits

  • Lead and manage certain special projects of tax department (e.g. R&D Credit study)

  • Focus on design, implementation, and optimization of large volume of US tax computations using process, technology and data

  • Partner with key Schneider functions (Legal, M&A, Accounting, Treasury) to provide support and enhance communication to help achieve Tax Department objectives

  • Develop and maintain strong relationship with external auditors


Qualifications - External

This job might be for you if:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field. JD, CPA and/or Masters in Taxation preferred

  • 10+ years of relevant experience within a CPA or law firm, and/or corporate tax department

  • Experience in managing internal control environment in publicly traded, multinational corporations

  • Experience and familiarity with tax technology tools and ability to implement within a department

  • Experience with IRS, and other tax audits

  • Ability to manage the implementation of tax projects, working with other functions and advisors as appropriate

  • Experience of working collaboratively with colleagues across different geographical boundaries

  • Strong organizational, communication and writing skills
