The Consumer Research & Insights (CRI) team within Global Consumer Marketing is a highly influential team that inspires consumer centricity throughout Bose by partnering closely with internal stakeholders and delivering actionable insights to ou r Consumer Electronics and Automotive Systems businesses. This multidisciplinary team works together to help Bose understand consumers, their problems and product needs, their motivations, how they make decisions, and how these are all changing.

Opportunity

CRI is looking to add another Senior Quantitative Consumer Researcher to the team to lead sophisticated research studies that measure consumer needs and model what consumers value in their experience of audio products at home, on the go, and in their car.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the work, from scoping the business problem through all phases of executing the work, to delivering compelling recommendations in influence business decisions. Most of the team's work is done in-house, which means team members program and field their surveys, and analyze the data themselves. There are also elements of the program that we execute via a stable of world-class partner agencies, so some vendor management will also be part of your responsibilities.

In this role, you will work expansively across the organization to inspire action from a wide variety of audiences, all the way up to the C-suite, through storytelling with data, compelling reports, and effective engagement with stakeholders. When you are working to support our Automotive Systems business, this will mean influencing the business to understand and balance the needs of the end consumers and our B2B partners who make the cars our systems go in and crafting data stories to help sell our solutions to automotive partners. You will also work collegially within the team with other quantitative researchers and our internal team of specialist qualitative researchers to build best practices and support one another's work.

Qualifications

  • Natural curiosity about why consumers think and act the way they do at the intersection of human beings and technology and why business like our automotive partners think and act the way they do.

  • Strong methodological foundation in quantitative research, including, but not limited to, conjoint/discrete choice and max diff. Expert level skills with one or more of SPSS, SAS, R, MatLab, etc. In addition, experience with the Sawtooth suite preferred.

  • Experience designing surveys and conjoint/discrete choice experiments and with programming and managing the fielding of the studies.

  • Skills as an effective storyteller using data, communicating complex insights to business leaders in a way that gets internal stakeholders to think and act differently, and external audiences in our automotive partners value Bose solutions.

  • Experience engaging with stakeholders to understand their business problems when scoping projects and guiding them in what the results mean and how to apply them at the end of the project.

  • Collaborative energy and enthusiastic team engagement including demonstrated success working directly with qualitative researchers to effectively incorporate their findings into your research.

  • A growth mindset and stay at the forefront of consumer research methodologies by seeking out new techniques, methodologies, and frameworks through formal training or by following blogs, publications, and thought leaders in the space.

  • Bachelors (graduate degree(s) highly desired) in a relevant field,

  • Minimum seven years of industry experience in fieldwork involving consumer products or technology (consumer-electronics or automotive experience is particularly beneficial).
