Job Description:

Uwharrie Bank is seeking an
Experienced Commercial Credit Analyst

Responsible for evaluating the credit worthiness and quality of consumer and commercial loans requests in a timely and accurate manner, by gathering financial statements and inputting data into software programs to spread both historical and projected data. Works closely with other credit analysts and lenders to complete financial spreads, evaluate trends and ratios to assist lenders in appropriate loan structure. Performs industry standard comparisons utilizing RMA data and other resources. Participates in Credit Committee to develop and increase underwriting skills by observing loan request and annual loan review presentations. The analyst will be in training to learn how to prepare annual loan reviews on larger loan relationships and will be expected to perform annual loan reviews within a reasonable amount of time.

General Qualifications
Knowledge: A four-year degree in business, finance or accounting, or equivalent experience, is required. Formal credit and/or underwriting training from a financial institution is highly preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three years' experience in a banking or financial institution, with emphasis on commercial credit underwriting, analysis and/or commercial lending, is highly preferred. Training and experience in reviewing residential and commercial appraisals is a plus.

Skills: Position requires general accounting knowledge, ability to read and understand financial statements, solid analytical and underwriting skills, ability to manage time, prioritize and organize tasks, and work within defined timeframes. Requires excellent interpersonal skills, work with various internal and external contacts, and written and oral communication skills. Must be proficient with personal computer and knowledgeable of various software applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word, Access is a plus.

Scope of Decisions: Work is performed under general bank credit and regulatory guidelines. Periodic independent judgment and decisions may be required that may affect the loan portfolio's integrity, performance and profitability. More complex credit decisions may require escalation to senior underwriters/analysts and/or CCO, as required. May also act in a consultative capacity with lending staff, as required.
