Your Role:



At EMD MilliporeSigma, as a Project Engineer 1, you will provide ongoing engineering support to the Norwood Management & Operations team. You will proactively plan for and execute all the assigned managers' engineering needs, providing the highest quality of engineering and project management support for the team with the utmost professionalism and highest customer service, engagement, and confidentiality, thereby becoming a trusted member of the function as well as the broader organization.


You will work with interdisciplinary teams made up of internal and external members, to make improvements in Manufacturing, Quality and Maintenance. In addition, you will communicate effectively in different styles to all levels of the company, and making sure safety is a key component to your job will help you succeed.


  • Provide engineering support for plant systems (processing, packaging, utilities, distribution, etc.)

  • Provide engineering support in development and maintenance of plant engineering drawings.

  • Develop scope, timeline, and execute site capital projects <$500K.

  • Develop scope, timeline, and execution of capital projects greater than $500K with coordination from global engineering.

  • Work with other engineers to develop continuous improvement projects to deliver cost efficient, safe, reliable, high-quality products and materials to our customers.

  • Work with mechanical and technical teams on mechanical integrity plans and evaluations for the site.

  • Participate in process hazard analyses and work with EHS and production teams to close action items.

  • Manage multiple projects, especially timelines and budgets.




Who You Are:




Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc. )




Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing

  • Strong interest or experience in organic solvents, distillation, solutions and purification processes

  • Distillation or batch manufacturing experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI, Smartsheets, and AutoCAD, MS Project and Minitab

  • 6S, Lean & Six Sigma knowledge
