Job Description



GPI is seeking a Construction Scheduler for the Landmark Bridge Restoration Program in the NY/NJ region. The Scheduler will interface with agency resident engineers, project managers, and the main contractor's schedulers, attend progress meetings, and lead project control efforts for the program. Responsibilities include reviewing contractor delay notices, performing independent analysis of delay claims, evaluating time impacts of change orders, and providing weekly and monthly status reports. The Scheduler will also review and provide recommendations on contractor baseline schedules, recovery schedules, and monthly progress updates, develop stage 3 schedules, and offer recommendations to the central contracts management team.

Responsibilities:



  • Review contractor's baseline, recovery, and progress schedules.


  • Provide schedule analysis to Project Manager(s), including interpretations and critiques of any shortcomings.


  • Perform "what-if analysis" and develop/interpret resource-loaded schedules for WBS elements when needed.


  • Analyze probabilistic and deterministic critical path activities and interpret potential impacts on project schedules submitted by contractors.


  • Maintain and track CPM schedules for the overall program using Primavera P6 software.


  • Attend project progress and claims meetings.


  • Assist project managers in compiling and interpreting schedule content for project reports.


  • Contribute to discussions on project schedule updates and revisions, suggesting improvements as appropriate.


  • Write and type correspondence, maintaining schedule and delay-related documentation.


  • Provide leadership through example and the sharing of knowledge/skills.


  • Coordinate with multiple project teams under the program to prepare and manage the Lane Closure Calendar/Tracker.


  • Lead weekly lane closure meetings and perform lane closure conflict management based on the schedule(s).


  • Assume Project Controls Scheduling and additional responsibilities as required.


Qualifications:



  • Possess a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience managing CPM schedules and time extension claims.

  • Prior experience with transit or heavy infrastructure programs or projects is required.

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, along with excellent client management abilities.

  • In-depth knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Access is essential.

  • Professional certification from AACE (PSP) or PMI (PMP) preferred but not mandatory.




Requirements



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration

  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site

  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language

  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members

  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)

  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
