Job Title: Live Fire Install Field Service Technician

Job Designation


Install and service Military and law enforcement live-fire range equipment sold by InVeris Training Solutions around the World.  In some instances, the Installer is responsible for completing all the work utilizing locally hired labor; in other situations, the individual will assist, supervise or oversee the contractor’s personnel who are responsible for the installation.


Job Core Responsibilities



  • Install training range equipment utilizing blueprints and written instructions.

  • Trouble-shoot problems, both mechanical and electrical, and determine and implement solutions.

  • Read and generate when needed, wiring and circuit card schematics/ wiring diagrams.

  • Troubleshoot, and repair Electrical wiring 120-480 VAC and 5 to 48 VDC, Data RS 485, RS 232, ENET, and Fiber Optics.

  • Setting up and troubleshooting infrastructure networking gear related to RS485/232, DSL, ENET, and Fiber Optics.

  • Setup computers and troubleshoot computer bugs.

  • Arrange for, direct, and supervise field crews.

  • Work with contractors, engineers and customers to schedule and complete equipment installation.

  • Prepare written reports of all installation and service activities.

  • Provide customers support both in person and by phone to help them trouble shoot and correct issues including, but not excluding infrastructure, operating systems outside InVeris owned software, and targetry paraphernalia.

  • Must be flexible due to constantly changing schedules


 Other Responsibilities:



  • When in the office, help other field personnel with problems and jobs.

  • When not busy with service or installation, help in other areas of the company as needed, such as manufacturing, repair, inventory area, etc.

  • Help edit or revise documentation for the installation, operation and maintenance of Meggitt equipment Manuals.

  • Work on other assignments as assigned.


Job Specifications



  • Must be able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a driving record that is acceptable to InVeris Training Solutions insurance provider.

  • Must have your own credit card or have individual credit that will allow the issue of a company credit card.

  • Be able to work independently, and solve problems

  • Must be proficient with a computer and Computer Programs.


 Education or Formal Training



  • A minimum High School degree.

  • Proficient in electrical, carpentry, mechanical, electronics, welding, MUX, and Fiber Optics operation and repair.

  • General construction experience preferred.

  • Military Live Fire experience is a plus.


 Experience 



  • Working with contractors, engineers and direct customer interaction. Prefer someone with experience directing and supervising a construction field crew.


Material & Equipment directly used



  • Small hand tools and various handheld trouble shooting devices.


 Working Environment/Physical Activities




  • This position requires travel up to 85% of the time, with typical installation assignments lasting 14 workdays, and periodic assignments of up to a month to include weekends.

  • At times lift 50 lbs. above head.
