Our team has expertise in organic sample preparation and analysis by GC, GC/MS, HRMS, HPLC and LC/MS.
Objectives of this Role:
Provide sample preparation and analytical support for the Analytical and Environmental Chemistry department.
Perform organic extractions under a variety of regulated programs and a variety of sample matrices.
Must have good attention to detail and maintain complete laboratory records.
Be able to schedule tasks to meet a number of concurrent projects.
Must communicate well with lab supervisor and project managers to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
Must be able to provide training to others once procedures are mastered.
Assist the laboratory supervisor with administrative tasks.
Opportunities to learn analytical instrumentation.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Use of analytical balances and various volumetric measurement glassware to include graduated cylinders, pipettes, syringes.
Glassware washing.
Preparation techniques requiring physical activity, i.e. extraction by separatory funnel, Soxhlet, CLLE, Sonication.
Record keeping of laboratory procedures in electronic notebooks and LIMS
Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Some college chemistry is preferred.
5-10 years: Experience in a lab environment.
Familiarity with environmental test methods.
A valid/clear driver's license is required.
