Position Title: Authorization Specialist I
Location: Remote
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 12+ Months Contract to Hire
Job Type: Full Time/ W2
Pay Range: $20/hr on W2
Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Build authorizations from incoming faxes in FileNet for both inpatient and outpatient requests across multiple markets.
Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and timely processing of authorizations.
Apply working knowledge of healthcare processes and regulations to facilitate efficient authorization processing.
Previous experience with a health plan is highly beneficial for this role.
Performance Expectations/Metrics:
Process 20-25 authorization builds per day.
Maintain a weighted productivity average of no less than 100%.
First Day Overview:
Log in and resolve any IT or connectivity issues.
Meet with the Lead and Supervisor to discuss role expectations and responsibilities.
Receive access to necessary applications and begin familiarization with systems.
Introduction to the Learning Journey training program tailored for the role.
Required Skills/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Previous experience with a health plan is preferred.
Ability to work effectively with computers and various computer programs.
Education Requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
